Shell Oil has licensed the surfing instrumental song 'Pipeline' for national use in a campaign which broke in July. The music track features the song's famous guitar riff. The Albert Company negotiated the license for the petroleum giant in 'record time' to meet airdates and production schedules. Albertco's Jon Albert said "This is not a campaign in which the music leaps out to an audience who is to gasp in amazement at the presence of the song, but rather is a more subtle use of popular music to enhance mood and message, as many of the licenses we arrange are meant to do."
